What's up bro
You know, there's a lot of small mistakes that keep guys stuck at the same level in calisthenics forever.
And chances are that right now, you're doing things that are keeping you stuck, and you don't even know about it…
What are those things?
To be honest, I don't know…
Because there are 100s of different things that can happen to hold you back…
Things that depend on your situation, how you eat, if you do other sports, if you have injuries, etc etc.
The other day I saw this with somebody who wanted to learn the front lever and asked for my advice…
Because he told me, progress is going very slow and he's finding it very hard, and he didn't know why.
Now he sent me a video of him practicing - and without even hitting play, I instantly saw what was wrong.
He was trying to learn the front lever on a high bar, which makes it wayyy harder. 10 times harder at least.
And I told him that using a bar that is low on the ground is like a cheat code.
And because I gave him that advice, he will learn it so much faster, it's crazy…
He could have spent months and years just to find himself frustrated and disappointed…
But instead he will progress easily and do the skill with 10/10 technique in 3 months from now, with a big smile on his face…
Now the thing is, this guy made a very specific mistake, and chances are you are not making this mistake right now.
You're probably still making a mistake, but it's something else, and it's something you don't have the experience to see.
That's why I recommend everybody who is new to calisthenics, or even at a pretty good level, to find someone at a higher level than them to train with.
Because if you have a friend who's a higher level than you, and he's training with you, he is going to tell you:
"Bro, stop doing this…
Do it like this…"
He'll tell you small things that will make a BIG difference…
And it all comes from experience.
Sometimes, he will tell you things he never thought about, but that he knows about just because of experience…
It's sort of like how you know how to walk, but you don't think about how you walk and how you do it - you just do it perfectly, very naturally…
But then, if you see someone walking very weird, it's very easy to notice, yeah?
In the same way, if someone more experienced than you sees you training, he will probably see you doing things in a strange way - and correct them…
And when you are ALWAYS doing things correctly and smartly, you will discover a whole new way of doing calisthenics…
Where progress is so smooth and easy that you feel like you're on steroids…
Where you're consistently getting bigger and stronger than all your friends even though they train just as much as you…
And where you learn every calisthenics skill in the book so easily that you shock all your friends… when they see you lifting yourself in the air exactly like the athletes they've seen on Instagram.
So yeah bro, find people who are ahead of you on your calisthenics journey, because then you'll get the closest thing to a "shortcut."
